Beholding Glory: "The Night He was Betrayed” -John 18:1-27

3/22/2026

Speaker: Peter Cho

When we face failure, guilt, or betrayal, it’s easy to deny God or lose hope. But the story of Peter and Judas shows us that God’s grace runs deeper than our greatest failure, and we can choose to respond with faith and hope in His love—or sink into our own despair.

Discussion Questions:
  1. Share about a time you felt betrayed, overlooked, or rejected (as much as you’re comfortable). Why do you think betrayal tends to leave such a lasting impact?
  2. Peter responds to Jesus’ arrest with force and control. Where do you see that same instinct in your own life? Why is it so hard to trust God’s will when it doesn’t match our expectations?
  3. The sermon highlights that failure is universal—but response is not. Do you agree? Why or why not? Why do you think Peter and Judas, who had similar experiences ended up with such different outcomes?
  4. What does it mean to you that Jesus chose to give Himself knowing betrayal was happening that very night? How does this shape your understanding of grace?
  5. For Those Struggling with Failure: Where do you feel shame, guilt, or disappointment right now? What would it look like to receive God’s grace instead of resisting it?
  6. For Those Who Have Been Hurt: Where are you holding onto pain, anger, or resentment from betrayal? What is one step you can take toward release, forgiveness, or trust in God’s justice?
