"Becoming Home" (ICC Annual Meeting)

1. When you hear the word “home,” what feelings or images come to mind?
2. Have you ever walked into a place where you immediately felt welcome? What made it feel that way?
3. In Ephesians 3, Paul describes the church as a “mystery” now revealed through the gospel. What makes the church such a surprising and beautiful revelation of God's glory in the context of the ancient world?
4. God’s mission is not only about saving individuals but forming a community of those who are saved. How does this challenge the way many Christians think about salvation?
5. The church is like a wall made of irregular stones rather than identical bricks. What does this image teach us about unity and diversity in the church? Why is there often a temptation to pursue unity through uniformity rather than embracing diversity?
6. In Acts 6, the early church addressed a situation where certain widows were being overlooked. What does this story teach us about the intentional effort required to maintain a healthy community?
7. Those in the majority often assume everything is fine because the system works well for them. Can you think of examples (in church or elsewhere) where this dynamic occurs? What are some practical ways a church can become more attentive to those who may feel overlooked or marginalized?
